چکیده

We consider the neutron matter quark matter phase transition along with possible existence of hybrid quark stars. The equation of state for neutron matter is obtained using a nonperturbative method with pion dressing of the neutron matter and an analysis similar to that of symmetric nuclear matter. The quark matter sector is treated perturbatively in the small distance domain. For bag constant B 1/4 =148 MeV, a first order phase transition is seen. In the context of neutron quark hybrid stars, Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations are solved using the equations of state for quark matter and for neutron matter with a phase transition as noted earlier. Stable solutions for such stars are obtained with the Chandrasekhar limit as 1.58 M ⊙ and radius around 10 km. The bulk of the star is quark matter with a thin crust of neutron matter of less than a kilometer.

Rigidly Rotating Strange Quark Star

The possibility of the existence of quark matter dates back to early seventies. Bodmer remarked that matter consisting of deconfined up, down and strange quarks could be the absolute ground state of matter at zero pressure and temperature. If this is true then objects made of such matter, so-called ”strange star”, could exist. There are several proposed mechanisms for formation of quark stars. ...

Nucleation of quark matter in neutron stars cores

We consider the general conditions of quark droplets formation in high density neutron matter. The growth of the quark bubble (assumed to contain a sufficiently large number of particles) can be described by means of a Fokker-Planck equation. The dynamics of the nucleation essentially depends on the physical properties of the medium it takes place. The conditions for quark bubble formation are ...

Cooling Evolution of Hybrid Stars

The cooling of compact isolated objects for different values of the gravitational mass has been simulated for two alternative assumptions. One is that the interior of the star is purely hadronic[1] and second that the star can have a rather large quark core [2]. It has been shown that within a nonlocal chiral quark model the critical density for a phase transition to color superconducting quark...

Cooling of Neutron Stars with Color Superconducting Quark Cores

We show that within a recently developed nonlocal chiral quark model the critical density for a phase transition to color superconducting quark matter under neutron star conditions can be low enough for these phases to occur in compact star configurations with masses below 1.3 M⊙. We study the cooling of these objects in isolation for different values of the gravitational mass and argue that, i...

Phase Transition and Hybrid Star in a Su(2) Chiral Sigma Model

We use a modified SU(2) chiral sigma model to study nuclear matter at high density using mean field approach. We also study the phase transition of nuclear matter to quark matter in the interior of highly dense neutron stars. Stable solutions of Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations representing hybrid stars are obtained with a maximum mass of 1.69M ⊙ , radii around 9.3 kms and a quark matter co...
